Terms and Conditions of Participation

Only exhibitors at the 76th Spielwarenmesse are eligible to participate in the ToyAward. Products may only be entered if they have not been presented in this form at any Spielwarenmesse prior to 2027.

Only fully finished products with a market launch from February 2026 through September 2027 may be submitted. Product concepts and non-functional prototypes are not eligible.
All submissions will be treated as strictly confidential. The ToyAward finalists will be announced at the Spielwarenmesse main press conference on 28 January 2027. The winners will be presented at the ToyAward ceremony on 3 February 2027, at the Toy Business Forum during Spielwarenmesse.

Each company may submit a maximum of three products. All shipping and customs costs are the responsibility of the participating company. Upon request, products must be delivered carriage paid.

The product must arrive at Spielwarenmesse eG fully assembled and in working order. Any required accessories, such as batteries, must be included.
The jury will also test the product for ease of use. Spielwarenmesse eG accepts no liability for any damage that may occur during testing.
Winners agree to display the ToyAward logo on the product packaging.

Products submitted by all finalists and winners will be showcased free of charge at the ToyAward stand in Hall 3A throughout the trade fair and promoted through our digital media channels.
After the ToyAward ceremony or at the end of Spielwarenmesse, all submitted products will be donated to a charitable cause benefiting children. If you do not wish your product to be donated, please contact us by 7 January 2027. Otherwise, your product will be donated as part of the 'Value of Play' campaign.

Spielwarenmesse eG and its appointed service providers shall not be liable for loss of or damage to submitted products, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence. Liability is limited to the purchase price of the product. Spielwarenmesse eG accepts no liability for loss or damage caused by third parties.

All information provided, submitted products, images, and product descriptions may be used by Spielwarenmesse eG for ToyAward marketing and promotional activities as well as editorial coverage in Spielwarenmesse media. Service providers acting on behalf of Spielwarenmesse eG may process this data. The Spielwarenmesse eG Privacy Policy also applies.

Since 2019, the judging process has included a two-stage evaluation with a digital pre-selection. A password-protected platform is used to which jury members have exclusive access. Once you have registered, your product data will be uploaded by Spielwarenmesse eG for evaluation. Please submit all product descriptions in English only. Submissions in other languages cannot be considered.

Spielwarenmesse eG reserves the right to reassign product submissions to other categories at its sole discretion and to revoke the award in the event of a breach of these Terms & Conditions or the submission of plagiarized or imitation products that infringe third-party intellectual property rights or violate applicable competition law.
