For Participants
The ToyAward is the innovation prize of Spielwarenmesse and is considered a prestigious award for particularly innovative products in the industry. Participation is free of charge for all Spielwarenmesse exhibitors.
The following six categories are available:
- Baby & Infant (0 – 3 years): Play ideas for the youngest that promote development and motor skills.
- PreSchool (3 – 6 years): Creative products for preschool children that enable playful learning.
- SchoolKids (6 – 10 years): Innovations that inspire school-age children and combine knowledge, fun and adventure.
- Teenager & Adults (from 10 years): Trends, games and gadgets for teenagers and adults.
- Startup: Innovative ideas from young companies that bring fresh impetus to the industry.
- Sustainability: Products with a special focus on sustainability and environmentally conscious play.
The award-winning products receive international attention – through impressive video clips, targeted press releases and presentation on the official website toyaward.de. Both winners and nominees benefit from extensive reach and high media visibility.
From September onwards, all Spielwarenmesse exhibitors can register for the ToyAward via the website www.toyaward.de or directly in the Online Service Center.
The nominated products will be presented for the first time at the main press conference of Spielwarenmesse Group via livestream at the end of January.
The ToyAward ceremony takes place at Spielwarenmesse on the Wednesday of the fair, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Toy Business Forum, Hall 3A – a highlight of the fair that generates great media attention.
Only fully functional product samples (including prototypes) with market launch by September 1st can be submitted.
The product must be functional and submitted in its original form. Product sketches and non-functional samples are not permitted for the competition.
The product must arrive at Spielwarenmesse eG fully assembled and functional. Necessary accessories, e.g. batteries, must be included. The same conditions apply to prototypes.
All shipping or customs costs are borne by the participating company. The product must be delivered duty paid (DDP = delivered duty paid).
The number of submissions per company is limited to three products.
Spielwarenmesse eG and service providers commissioned by it assume no liability for loss or damage to products provided by them or their employees, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. Liability is limited to the purchase price of the product. Spielwarenmesse eG is not liable for loss or damage caused by third parties, in particular visitors to Spielwarenmesse®. The product will also be tested by the jury for its usability. Spielwarenmesse eG assumes no liability for any damage that may occur.
All submitted products will be donated to a charitable cause for the benefit of children after the ToyAward ceremony or after the end of Spielwarenmesse®. If this is not desired, please indicate this during registration.
