Roll Around RattlesSkip Hop
Pretty colours, an attractive material and plenty of opportunities to take hold of the funny little characters all epitomise the Roll Around Rattles from Skip Hop. Their special feature? When the figures are thrown on the floor – something which little kids are notoriously fond of doing – they jump back. For the young, this offers a very special kind of fun. But Skip Hop has also thought of the parents, because the impact is very nearly silent. The Roll Around Rattles playfully support the motor development of the little ones. This combination also persuaded the jury to select the Roll Around Rattles as the winner in the Baby&Infant category.
Little Red Riding Hood BookLilliputiens
For intimate moments: Belgian manufacturer Lilliputiens has developed the "Little Red Riding Hood Book" with loving attention to detail. Parents can use the book, sewn from quality fabrics, to tell their children the story of Little Red Riding Hood: the characters travel through the pages, disappear, for example, into the belly of the wolf, and come out again on the next page, and at the happy ending they all come together at a table to dine. A dream for children – and for parents.
Wooden toys are some of the classics in the nursery; Selecta Spielzeug has developed a multicoloured activity disc for the little ones: Minitivity. Three colourful play areas, spinning cogs, rocking pegs and a flexible rotating bell invite every child to touch them. The practical Velcro fastening on the back means that Minitivity can easily be attached to the stroller or playpen.

HighwayfreakScoot & Ride
The Scoot & Ride Highwayfreak is a clever combination of a scooter and push bike that can be transformed with just one click. This means that parents don't have to choose just the one vehicle for their child and, according to their mood, the little ones can also decide between the push bike and the scooter function, which is much more demanding as regards their sense of balance. It wasn't just the simple conversion mechanism that particularly impressed the jury, the high-class workmanship and quality along with the beautiful feel were also immediately persuasive. In addition, the Highwayfreak's minimalist design is also striking.
Mental Blox Critical Thinking ChallengeLearning Resources
With the Mental Blox Critical Thinking Challenge from Learning Resources, children playfully gain a spatial sense of proportion. To do so, they use differently patterned geometric figures to build constructions as illustrated on picture cards. To make things even trickier, you can customize the game by having another player describe the structure that has to be built. Moreover, tricky additional tasks encourage logical thinking. A game that grows with the abilities of the children!
The jury thought the LexiBox from Lexibook, an educational game console for children between three and eight years of age, was particularly innovative. The children learn numbers, letters, colours and seasons with two game characters which, as console-mounted avatars, lead the child through the game. The controller with buttons and joystick has a non-slip backing and stands on the floor, which allows it to be operated with both hands. A profile feature also allows parents to take control of their children's game.

Zoomer DINOSpin Master International
Spin Master International has developed the playmate Zoomer DINO especially for children who love dinosaurs. Thanks to sensors in the nose of the cute dinosaur, both its tail and head can be moved by a remote control or by hand gestures. Naturally, Dino also makes its characteristic howling noises – and they can be pretty wild when Dino gets angry! What is particularly fascinating to observe is how, after it's been turned on, Zoomer DINO straightens itself up and balances itself on its wheels. In addition, the eyes that glow in different colours always show what mood it is in. This has inspired the jury to select Zoomer DINO as the winner in the SchoolKids category!
Roco Next Generation – Basic Set 'Detektiv Tom'Modelleisenbahn München
The Roco Next Generation basic set from Modelleisenbahn München is an innovative model railway that is controlled by an app on a mobile device. With additional cut-out sheets that can be downloaded off the Internet, the train drivers can also embellish their scenario.
SpinderellaZOCH (distribution: NORIS-SPIELE
It's not so easy to move the spiders on the top part of the three-dimensional playing field in such a way that they can catch the ants underneath. It all works with a combination of cable winches and a magnetic mechanism. The small insects can only rest below when a piece of bark protects them. Three dice decide how and what – a spider, ant or bark – can be moved. Spinderella from ZOCH (distribution: NORIS-SPIELE is a challenging game for children aged six and over!

Hobbyzone Sport Cub SAFEHorizon Hobby
Hobbyzone Sport Cub SAFE is the ideal introduction to model aeroplanes for inexperienced pilots as well as toy retailers: this beautifully designed aeroplane practically flies by itself in safe mode. Flight by flight, the owners – whether young or old, man or woman – can improve their skills and learn to control the device themselves. And if the aeroplane encounters turbulence, just pressing the panic button is enough to put the model back into safe mode. A concept that also inspired the jury: it awarded the model aircraft from Horizon Hobby first place in the Teenager&Family category.
Sky Rover – Voi-SmartAlpha Animation and Culture (HK)
The Sky Rover – Voi-Smart from Alpha Animation and Culture is really taking off: amateur pilots will attract plenty of attention with this helicopter on the airfield, thanks to a special technical feature: the model can be steered through the air by means of a console or voice control; the helicopter understands twelve commands – right through to "dancing in the air". This means that the pilot has his hands free and the model glides through the air – seemingly all by itself.
Snake OilAMIGO Spiel + Freizeit
"Snake Oil" is a term from the Wild West: snake oil had no effect whatsoever, but was sold as a cure-all. AMIGO Spiel + Freizeit have now taken up this idea in their eponymous game. Players have to combine two terms from the cards and then, for example, sell the "alarm suit" to another player, the potential customer. A task that can only be mastered with a great deal rhetorical skill and imagination! Snake Oil – the party game that guarantees players a whole lot of fun.
