Kullerbü – Car Park-Play TrackHabermaass GmbH
This year saw HABA introduce a car park-play track of the special kind: Not only does it offer plenty of parking for the many different Kullerbü vehicles, it also includes a car wash, a lifting platform for vehicle repairs, and a petrol pump. The absolute highlight of this quality wooden toy, however, is the helicopter landing pad on the top level - and naturally, the play track on which cars can zoom up and down. This track can be easily combined with other Kullerbü play tracks, theme sets and accessories which offer a diverse playing landscape for children. This exciting toy concept, in combination with quality material and detailed design convinced the jury, too, who awarded the first prize in the Baby & Infant category to HABA’s car park-play track.

What’s that? Underneath the tummy flap of the Activity Penguin kuckuck is a small mirror that allows for much diversity on the baby blanket - after all, it shows a different image every time the baby takes a look. But kuckuck can do so much more and features many a loving detail, such as a small rattle or a musical box to promote the sense of feel and motor skills of small children, combined with quality materials and a beautiful design. Growing up can be so much fun!
First it is a sand spade for the playground and then, with a few changes only, it becomes a tool for splashing around or a rake. Raki by Pars Pro Toto can be used in the bathtub, for playing in the garden or in the children’s room. It is made of quality materials and survives even the harshest digging expedition in the flower beds, plus its beautiful design is a winner.

The cute little chameleon with the big wide eyes and the robot-like embellishments on the body will quickly become the favourite of all pre-school kids. Robo Chameleon can be remote controlled to move across the children’s room and, at the touch of a button, it quickly unrolls its long tongue covered in magnets which help it snap for the metal food items, only to disappear in its mouth again. When moving, it wiggles its cute tail and the ridge on its head and its back is covered in LED lights that routinely change colour! By manoeuvring and targeting Robo Chameleon trains children’s dexterity in a fun way. The combination of a technical robot with high play value was the decisive criteria for the jury to nominate Robo Chameleon as the winner in the PreSchool category.

My Wooden Magnetic Notebook by Comet Novelty Inc. is a pre-school blackboard 2.0 designed to look like a notebook, with a magnetic screen. Children have the possibility to attach first words with letter or number buttons, or to write with chalk. Picture cards and sample calculations serve as inspiration. Small chalk and a mini sponge have their dedicated spot on the notebook and for fun, a cardboard smartphone has been added - irresistible for the little ones. A new look for a classic at a low price, which resonated strongly with the jury.

Children interactively learn many things about animals and familiarize themselves with the technology in a playful manner.

The six different model railways "to go" by NOCH GmbH & Co. KG have been designed with much love and space restrictions in mind. In a roughly 60 cm x 80 cm large briefcase, an entire landscape unfolds for Märklin’s N gauge or S gauge train sets. The sophisticated control which can be battery-operated or connected to a main power supply, and the highly detailed, creative finish with lit buildings and even Christmas tree lights, make the hearts of railway aficionados skip a beat. The model railways in a briefcase, a combined creation by the makers NOCH and Märklin, convinced the jury, too.
