Tegu BEANS & TUMTUM Magnetic Wooden Block SetTegu
Wooden toys have been experiencing a renaissance in children’s rooms for some time now. But the BEANS & TUMTUM Magnetic Wooden Block Set sets itself apart from the masses with its combination of the traditional and modern. Beautiful blocks, some colourful, can be "stuck" together very easily on the rubber sides thanks to magnets – so simply, in fact, that even the very young can quickly celebrate their first successful forays into the world of construction. The concept, tasteful design and high-quality materials also impressed the jury, which awarded the BEANS & TUMTUM Magnetic Wooden Block Set first place in the Baby & Infant category.
Activity GymDone by Deer
Play arches bring variety to play mats and the like, encouraging little ones to touch and grip. Done by Deer has now come up with a very special version: an activity gym that stands out due to its particular attention to detail. Soft toys such as Croco the crocodile and Nozo the rhino can be hung from the arch. Both make funny noises when touched. But there is still room for a baby’s favourite animal. Mirrors on the legs allow children to see themselves.
Senso' ChameleonInfantino Bkids
The Senso’ Chameleon from Infantino Bkids B.V. has been designed with little adventurers in mind. Six colourful shapes, lightning and textures on the back help even the youngest to develop their fine motor skills. Cheerful songs encourage them to keep inserting the shapes. And for a wow effect, simply press the chameleon’s back – all of the shapes spring out from their slots and the animal rolls his big funny eyes. Enjoyment for old and young.

Mighty Mountain MineHape International
Absorbing play worlds over four levels: the Mighty Mountain Mine combines a classic railway set and mining. Trains are loaded at the very top with the aid of a 360-degree crane. Then help them travel carefully through the waterfall tunnel with its beautiful water feature – and, whoosh, rope and obstacle bridges which must be negotiated await one level below. Time just to ring the bell to warn other trains before setting the points and moving full steam ahead, down to the next level. The jury was so enthusiastic about the reinterpretation of the wooden railway set and the multi-level design that it named the Mighty Mountain Mine the winner in the PreSchool category. Packed with details and lovingly painted, this is a great eye-catcher in any child’s room!

Chalk BombsXTREM Toys & Sports
The Chalk Bombs add a splash of colour at playtime! Each little fabric bag is filled with coloured chalk which is released in colourful dust clouds once the bag is thrown. Whether used to play "chalk boccia" on the ground or for simply throwing at one another – fun is guaranteed and no strike goes undetected. These are also a hit with parents, as the chalk washes off and can be removed from any surface without leaving a residue.

With LEGO BOOST, schoolkids can already gain their first programming experience through play. The set comes with instructions on how to build several models – including Vernie the robot, Frankie the cat and a guitar. Once built, a free app brings them to life. Vernie can then talk and dance, for example, while controlled by his user via a tablet. Kids can use the free app to very simply program movements and add sound effects. With Boost, Lego is combining the conventional construction experience with modern technology – an approach recognised by the jury with first prize in the SchoolKids category.
ICECOOLAMIGO Spiel + Freizeit
With ICECOOL from AMIGO, the players assume the role of penguin schoolkids and try to grab delicious fish. But watch out, the angry janitor may be lurking around any corner. Then a skilful "flick" of the finger is needed to help a penguin quickly flee to another room or spring over walls. ICECOOL is an imaginative game offering a special 3D experience with its innovative box-in-a-box system – sure to enthral both the young and old.
GeckobotGenius Toy Taiwan / Kosmos / Thames & Kosmos
Geckobot from Thames & Kosmos is a special kind of robot: it comes with a motor which sets the plastic animal’s four limbs in motion – simulating a living gecko. However, the little suction feet are where it really stands out. Thanks to these, the robot can climb windows, for example, without falling. With its great entertainment value, Geckobot helps its young owners understand the fundamentals of mechanics and can be converted into various other models as well. Thanks to its attractive design, it is also an eye-catcher in any child’s room.

The jury enjoyed it so much that it named this innovative play idea the winner in the Teenagers&Adults category.
The PartyMic from iDance is more than just a microphone. It can be connected via Bluetooth to a PC or smartphone, which is where the karaoke songs come from. Practically packaged in a little bucket with a handle, Sjoel de Boules is a great portable parlour game for the young and old. The game can be played on a table or the floor.
